“But God.” The title says it all. Bro. Kelley preached Sun. Night on the power of God in our lives. We all use excuses when it comes to our christian walk. For example, we would come to church BUT, we worked late and we’re too tired. Or, we would read our bible BUT, you have to pay the bills first.
If we are going to witness to this world, it’s our job to be the planter, and water our city with God’s word, and He will follow with the increase! There may be trials in your life, but God is here to bring you through so you can be an overcomer. He won’t put you through anything He knows you cannot bear, even though it seems to be the worst.
Bro. Kelley mentioned back in the day when we would do the “Fire Safety” rules and stuff with our kids. Everyones done it, don’t deny it. You make the gameplan on getting out of the house when it’s on fire, and meeting at the mailbox and staying there. Even if it means you had to leave little old Spot behind. May he rest in peace, but the point being made is, when we all go through the fiery situations in our lives, we have to perservere and realize that God has our excape route. If we remain faithful to Him, He will surely remain to us. Ever wonder why we face death, or sickness, or pain, but in the long run, we end up with a smile? God is the reason we make it through that!
Psalms 73:26 says, “My flesh and my heart faileth; BUT GOD, is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.” Our bodily flesh will fail us, our mind will fail us, and our friends will fail us, but I’m here to tell you, we serve a God whom shall NEVER fail us! We as Christians worry too much about dotting our I’s and crossing our T’s.
It’s about time to let go and let God use us, in the good and the bad. Stand out like Samson did. He received the victory and stayed faithful to God. It’s a long road and it’s going to get tiring, BUT GOD, will make a way, when there seems to be no way…
